Infant & Toddler Program
We welcome infants as young as six weeks old to our school and toddlers up to the age of four.
It is never too early to start building your child’s educational foundation. Learning starts even before a child is born. At Homestead Montessori School, we make every effort to instill a continuous love for learning in each child throughout every stage of their development.
Children are free to explore their classroom and choose learning materials that interest them. Our well prepared environment includes learning materials that are designed with purpose and are natural in quality.
In the Montessori classroom, teachers are rather guides where we provide the children opportunities to develop and expand their language, social, cognitive, sensory, motor and practical life skills. Adults are constantly observing the children and their individual interests so that learning materials can be adapted or created to suit their needs. Out of respect for the children, we only intervene when giving a demonstration, if we are invited by the child to participate in an activity, or if we can provide a child with an opportunity to learn.
As infants and toddlers learn and grow in our classroom, they will gain the confidence to further expand their curiosity, leading them take ownership of their own education and ultimately of their own life.
